On October 27, 2018, the China Electrical Engineering Society conducted a comprehensive appraisal of 22 technological achievements developed by NARI Group in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The evaluation covered key areas such as Ultra High Voltage (UHV) AC and DC transmission, new energy integration, intelligent dispatching, and information technology. Notably, 18 of these innovations were recognized as reaching international leading standards, showcasing NARI’s strong technical capabilities in communication and power system development. The appraisal was led by over 150 top experts from prestigious universities, research institutions, and power companies, including renowned academicians like Zhang Yongchuan, Lei Qingquan, Cheng Shijie, Luo An, and Tang Guangfu. This marked one of the most significant expert panels assembled for such an event in the year, highlighting the importance of NARI's contributions to the field. Among the 22 projects reviewed, several stood out. These included the "Large-Scale Camera Protection Operation Control System," "Key Technology and Engineering Application of 300MW-Class Pumped Storage Unit Control System," "Distribution Automation Network Security Protection System," and "Intelligent Operation Control System for Large Call Centers." Other notable projects involved advanced technologies for lightning risk warning, multi-rotor UAV-based line inspection, and network security monitoring. A total of 18 projects were rated as internationally advanced, with some even surpassing global benchmarks. The appraisal committee praised NARI’s innovative breakthroughs, emphasizing its leadership in smart grid and energy interconnection technologies. They also highlighted the company’s growing influence in emerging strategic industries. The committee encouraged NARI to further accelerate the application and commercialization of its cutting-edge technologies. Duan Xiong, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province, emphasized the significance of this event during his speech. He noted that a new wave of scientific, industrial, and energy revolutions is reshaping the global landscape. Under the province’s “concentrate and innovate” strategy, Jiangsu is focusing on technological innovation as a core driver for economic growth and regional development. Recent policies, such as the “40 Measures for Scientific and Technological Innovation” and the “30 Measures for Reform,” aim to strengthen the industrialization of scientific achievements and foster a robust, self-reliant industrial system. Yan Guofu, representing NARI Group, stated that the company has held centralized appraisals for four consecutive years, making it a key platform for showcasing technological progress. Looking ahead, NARI plans to implement the “Four Revolutions and One Cooperation” strategy in energy development, focusing on re-electrification and the construction of a new generation power system. This initiative aims to accelerate the development of the Energy Internet and promote clean, low-carbon energy transformation. In addition to the appraisal, NARI Group also launched 16 new products at its 2018 product launch conference, covering areas such as intelligent dispatching, power transmission, transformation, distribution, and information communication.
