There are 6 LED packaging companies, nearly 1,000 small and medium-sized enterprises, and technology patents account for more than 40% of the country. With the advantage of technological innovation, Guangdong LED actively promotes product standard formulation, takes the lead in research and development of LED lighting standard optical components, and develops semiconductor lighting product standards with LED street lamps as the core, leading the development of the national LED industry.
Liu Haohao revealed that Guangdong is actively developing and manufacturing MOCVD systems. Guangdong Industrial Technology Research Institute and Guangdong Zhaoxin Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will jointly promote the key technologies of the LED industry and the industrialization of MOCVD equipment. At present, the development of MOCVD system has achieved stage results. Professor Guo Zhiyou from the Institute of Optoelectronics and Technology of South China Normal University said that the front end of our industry is MOCVD equipment for key components and key raw materials. Samples of the MOCVD system are now available and are expected to be industrialized in 2015.
