China's coking product price index was first released at the 2006 national coke market situation seminar held in Beijing on February 28. The first price index products monitored and released include coke, coal tar and crude benzene.
Coking products are one of the important basic raw materials for industrial production, especially coke products. It is one of the important raw materials for steel production. The change in the price of coking products not only directly reflects the economic operation status and development trend of the coking industry, but also influences the choices of the production and operation and development strategies of the Jiaozhou enterprise, and also affects the production cost of iron and steel and coal chemical products. Therefore, the price trend of coke and coking products has always been highly concerned by both inside and outside the industry.
In order to better implement macro-control, provide the association with effective industry-coordinated information, provide enterprises with business decision-making information services, and better guide the coking industry to develop in a healthy and orderly manner, through China Coking Industry Association, Metallurgical Industry Price Information Center, and Metallurgy. The three coking prices research institutes jointly decided to establish a price monitoring system for coke and coking products in China.
At the conference, for the first time, the price index maps of coke (≥25-40 mm, >40 mm), coal tar, and crude benzene three types of products from April 1994 to February 2006 were released for the first time. The base period of the index is April 1994, and the calculation method adopted is the weighted average method.
