The 2011 China Automotive Testing and Quality Control Expo was held in Shanghai last week. The United States Moog company unveiled its latest products and systems. During the exhibition, Tom Pierce, Director of Asia Pacific Testing and Simulation of Moog, and Jagjit Singh, General Manager of Moog China, who was newly appointed in June, were interviewed by this reporter. They all stated that Moog has a very optimistic attitude towards the Chinese auto testing market and the company will continue to expand local capabilities to provide Chinese customers with more diversified and personalized services.

According to reports, this time Moog exhibited three major products at the show, namely the new integrated test software package, a new generation of modular test controller, and a hydraulic six-axis shaker. It is worth mentioning that in May this year, Moog obtained a new contract in China. The customer, China Automotive Engineering Research Institute, purchased a hydraulic six-axis vibration table. The purpose of this product is to comprehensively test components. At the same time, the product proposes a revolutionary test method for automotive exhaust systems. With this method, simulations can be made closer to real road conditions to achieve better test results. The delivery time of this product is expected to be at the end of this year.

In addition to the continuous launch of new products, Moog is also very concerned about the export of Chinese self-owned brand car products. Tom Pierce said that this year, China’s auto exports have seen large-scale growth compared to last year, especially since independent brands have created an export boom. Although most of these self-owned brands currently export to developing countries such as Africa, the Middle East, and Russia, the relatively mature markets in Europe and North America are still relatively small. However, with the continuous improvement of the performance and reliability of these automotive products, it is believed that in the near future, the products of China's own-brand automakers will also have a place in the European and American markets. In this regard, Moog will also use global testing resources to help these car companies further reduce costs, improve product quality and competitiveness in the international market. In addition, Jagjit Singh stated that Moog is actively building a localized Chinese team to provide customers with better services and solutions. This team has a wealth of testing experience, familiar with the internationally accepted automotive testing standards, they can provide customers with the entire product installation and commissioning, technical advice and after-sales service solutions.
