The semiconductor lighting (LED) industry, one of the emerging industries in the 12th Five-Year Plan, is currently on the fast track. According to the data of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the first half of the year, as of the end of June, a total of 39.28 billion light-emitting diodes (LEDs) were produced, an increase of 26.4. This means that the LED industry is still a hot spot for investment. Experts predict that by 2015, only the LED industry in the field of lighting will reach at least 500 billion. High market expectations have attracted many companies to enter the entire chain of this industry chain, especially in the middle and lower reaches. Industry insiders estimate that there are more than 4,000 companies in the national LED industry chain. However, people from two large photovoltaic companies in Fujian believe that the LED industry will be reshuffled in two or three years. Due to the establishment of technological innovation and standards, some companies will be eliminated in development. National strategy and industry overall LED products are not high localization rate, the market is basically divided by Philips, Osram, GE, Panasonic and other lighting giants. The start of China's LED industry is after the implementation of the relevant national strategy, especially the national 12th Five-Year Science and Technology Plan released in July, which defines the key support points for strategic emerging industries and other industries in the next five years. The energy conservation and environmental protection industry is among them. One of the national support priorities includes LED equipment and localization of MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition).
