Mainland has become the largest market for machine tool exports in Taiwan

According to statistics from the Taiwan General Administration of Customs of the Ministry of Finance and the Taiwan Machinery Industry Association, due to factors such as a high base for the same period in 2012, the slow pace of global economic recovery, and Japan and South Korea’s fiscal easing monetary policy, Taiwan’s machine tools from January to May 2013 Exports decreased by 18.3% year-on-year, and exports amounted to US$1.416 billion. Among them, the export of machine tools increased slightly in May, and the export value reached US$320 million, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%, and exports gradually stabilized.

According to statistics, the top 10 countries in Taiwan's machine tool export rankings are China (including Hong Kong), the United States, Thailand, Turkey, Indonesia, South Korea, Germany, Malaysia, India and the Netherlands. The largest export markets were still the mainland of China and Hong Kong. From January to May 2013, the export value was 478 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 18%, but the proportion still exceeded 33%. The second largest exporting country is the United States, with a share of 11.9% and an amount of US$168 million, a decrease of 18.3%. The third largest exporter is Thailand, with a total amount of 103 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 3.8%, with a share of 7.3%.
