We’re thrilled to share that this year, we’re expanding the Netfabb community with enhanced design, engineering, and manufacturing capabilities by integrating the Netfabb tools into the Autodesk Fusion 360 ecosystem. Existing Netfabb subscribers will continue to enjoy their current products while gaining access to the full power of Fusion 360. This includes advanced modeling, manufacturing, documentation, and more—all in one platform. For many users, this means receiving Fusion 360’s Additive Build Extension and the upcoming Additive Simulation Extension at no extra cost. Plus, they’ll now have access to Fusion 360 Team and HSMWorks.
Building on the unified Fusion 360 and PowerMill offering announced last August, this update ensures you get even more functionality for the same price. All Netfabb users will automatically receive Fusion 360 with their subscriptions. Premium and Ultimate subscribers will also unlock the Additive Build Extension for metal additive manufacturing, while Ultimate users will gain the Additive Simulation Extension as it becomes available.

This move reflects our ongoing commitment to helping customers future-proof their design and manufacturing workflows. Our goal is to empower Netfabb users to work smarter, faster, and more efficiently—gaining a real edge in their industries.
Fusion 360 extensions bring powerful new features to both designers and manufacturers. For example, the Additive Build Extension, launched in October, introduced metal powder bed fusion capabilities along with intelligent orientation and support structure generation. Soon, we’ll be launching the Additive Simulation Extension, which will allow users to run simulation studies before printing, helping identify potential issues early on.

Collaboration between designers, engineers, and fabricators has always been a core part of Autodesk’s vision. We’re continuously refining connected workflows, automating processes, and improving supply chain integration. Fusion 360 serves as a single, unified platform using a single data model, eliminating file conversion delays, detail loss across platforms, and rework. Our mission is to simplify your workflow so you can focus on bringing your ideas to life. With tools like the Generative Design Extension, experimenting with new methods has never been easier.

“Additive manufacturing is one of the most transformative technologies in the industry,†said Sualp Ozel, Senior Product Manager for additive technologies in Fusion 360. “It offers benefits like shorter time-to-market, lighter products, and less waste. At Autodesk, we aim to eliminate the barriers that slow down design and manufacturing, creating a seamless workflow within a single toolset. This change gives our users the right tools to develop and produce innovative products.â€
