Hey everyone, I just wanted to share some photos and details from this morning's fire call at 9650 S. Ewing Ave. It happened around the 2-11 alarm, and it seems like there was a gas explosion involved. From what I saw, there were two people transported to the hospital. One of them was reportedly in pretty bad shape.
The lighting wasn’t ideal for capturing the new snorkel equipment, but these photos should still give you an idea of how intense the scene was. The fire seemed to be concentrated mostly in the back of the building. The snorkel was initially positioned in a vacant lot on the C/D corner behind the building. Later on, they moved it to the front of the structure so they could get better access to the flames. They eventually ended up burning off the roof to fully contain the fire.
There’s also a short video out there showing the setup process for Squad 5A. I’ll try to link that if I can find it.
Here are some photos I took:

I’ve been following the updates closely because incidents like this really highlight the hard work firefighters put in. If anyone has more information or additional footage, feel free to drop it in the comments below. Stay safe out there!
