We’re thrilled to share that this year, we’re enhancing the Netfabb community by integrating powerful design, engineering, and manufacturing tools into the Autodesk Fusion 360 ecosystem. Existing Netfabb subscribers will continue to enjoy their current tools while gaining access to the full range of Fusion 360 features, including modeling, simulation, documentation, and more. For many users, this update includes the Additive Build Extension and the upcoming Additive Simulation Extension—both available at no extra cost. In addition, all Netfabb users will now have access to Fusion 360 Team and HSMWorks, expanding their workflow possibilities.
This move builds on our earlier announcement of combining Fusion 360 with PowerMill, offering even greater functionality for the same price. All Netfabb subscriptions will now include Fusion 360. Premium and Ultimate subscribers will also get the Additive Build Extension for metal additive manufacturing, while Ultimate users will automatically receive the future Additive Simulation Extension when it launches.
As part of this integration, we're enhancing the user experience by bringing together a unified platform that streamlines design and manufacturing processes. This helps reduce delays, file conversion issues, and rework, allowing users to focus on innovation. The new extensions, like the Additive Build Extension, offer advanced capabilities such as intelligent orientation and support generation, making 3D printing more efficient and reliable.
Soon, the Additive Simulation Extension will be available, enabling users to simulate their prints and identify potential issues before production. These updates are part of our ongoing effort to make design and manufacturing workflows smoother and more connected. By integrating tools like Generative Design, we empower users to experiment and innovate with ease.
To see how these tools can transform your workflow, check out real-world examples, like the generatively designed skateboard truck made for Braille Skateboarding, or the DMLS titanium skateboard truck produced using cutting-edge additive technology.
“Additive manufacturing is one of the most transformative technologies in the industry,†said Sualp Ozel, Senior Product Manager for additive technologies at Autodesk. “Our goal is to eliminate barriers in the design and manufacturing process, creating a seamless workflow within a single toolset. This change ensures our users have everything they need to develop and produce innovative products.â€
