The breakthrough in high-efficiency energy-saving slurry spray pipe technology for desulfurization towers has finally ended foreign monopolies. Recently, Hebei KNT Fiberglass Co., Ltd. successfully developed an independent production process for slurry glass fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) spray pipes used in desulfurization systems, and obtained national invention patents. This innovation marks a major step forward in the domestic desulfurization industry.
As a critical component in flue gas desulfurization systems, the spray pipe plays a vital role in ensuring efficient contact between flue gas and limestone slurry. For a long time, the production of such high-performance spray pipes was dominated by foreign companies. However, the newly developed product from Hebei KNT Fiberglass addresses key challenges, including the corrosive and abrasive effects of the reaction between flue gas and limestone solution.
According to Li Xiaofeng, deputy general manager and inventor of the process design, the company introduced a specialized inner liner and outer surface layer with added wear-resistant materials. This innovative structure significantly enhances the spray pipe’s resistance to corrosion and impact, extending its service life to over 30 years. Additionally, the new design improves desulfurization efficiency to more than 95%, which is 5% to 15% higher than traditional options like polypropylene or rubber-lined steel pipes. This improvement makes the system more energy-efficient and effective in reducing emissions.
Furthermore, through enhanced curing techniques and the use of advanced materials, the product now performs well at high temperatures, meeting the demanding process requirements of 180–200°C. The company's spray pipes have already been successfully applied in various domestic desulfurization systems, with excellent performance and positive feedback from users. This technological advancement not only strengthens China's self-reliance in environmental protection equipment but also sets a new standard for the industry.
