During the "Honeywell Chongqing Innovation Day," jointly organized by the Chongqing Economic and Trade Commission on March 20, the event highlighted cutting-edge automotive technologies, with turbochargers and automotive sensors taking center stage. Local automakers such as Changan and Lifan were among the participants, actively engaging with Honeywell representatives and exchanging ideas at the exhibition.
As China’s auto industry policy becomes clearer, energy efficiency, emission reduction, and the development of related technologies have become key topics in the sector. Honeywell, a global leader in transportation systems research and manufacturing, has established partnerships with several domestic automakers. At the 20th Innovation Day, it introduced advanced technologies like turbocharging and automotive electronics, offering valuable opportunities for local companies to enhance their competitiveness.
Lifan Group, which is preparing to launch its second model series, was one of the most active participants. Wang Yanhui, President of Lifan Motors Group, shared insights gained during a trip to Germany, where he learned about how Mercedes-Benz's SMART brand uses turbo technology to boost engine performance. "A 0.65-liter engine can achieve the power of a 1.3-liter engine for just $200," he said. This experience has reinforced Lifan’s decision to invest in R&D and master core automotive technologies, including turbocharged engines.
In response to the growing demand, Honeywell’s China R&D Center General Manager emphasized that the company is committed to supporting the technological upgrade of the Chongqing auto industry. By leveraging its global expertise, Honeywell aims to help local manufacturers stay competitive in an increasingly tech-driven market.
