From the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District's Facebook post: Around 1:47 AM, the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Department received a call regarding a structure fire at the 300 block of Goshawk Lane in unincorporated Deerfield. As our teams were en route, the Regional Emergency Dispatch Center (RED Center) updated us that police officers on the scene confirmed a fully involved structure. Upon arrival, we found a two-story, multi-unit townhome complex with significant fire extending from the roof. Firefighters immediately deployed a hose line for firefighting efforts and ensured the affected unit was clear of occupants. The flames were confined to the unit where the fire originated. We conducted a thorough inspection of the neighboring buildings to check for any spread of fire, which resulted in only minimal damage to one of the adjacent structures. A mutual aid request was sent out, bringing in additional personnel and fire investigators to assist with the situation. Both the cause and the financial impact of the fire are currently under investigation. I want to express my gratitude to the collaborative efforts of the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District and the support from various departments including Deerfield, Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, Wheeling, Northbrook, Arlington Heights, Prospect Heights, Highland Park, Countryside, Glencoe, Northfield, as well as the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the RED Center. Their swift response and coordination played a crucial role in containing the fire and minimizing potential damages.
