The Western Springs Fire Department has recently updated their historical photo section on their official page. Situated in MABAS Division 10, the department boasts a long and storied history with a wide range of fire apparatus from brands like Ward LaFrance, FWD, Seagrave, E-ONE, American LaFrance, and Pierce. Originally painted in white, the department began transitioning to a white-over-red scheme in 1977 when they acquired their first American LaFrance Ladder Chief Quint. This change required repainting three of their units, including the 1977 E-ONE, the 1975 Seagrave, and the 1982 Pierce. These vehicles now stand as a testament to the department’s evolving identity over the decades.
