Nissan has revealed its strategy to enter the Russian market with light commercial vehicles, aiming to become the leading manufacturer in this segment by 2012. The company is making a strong push to capture a significant share of the growing demand for small and medium-sized commercial vehicles in the region.
According to Reuters, Nissan will begin selling its light commercial vehicles in Russia this September. The automaker has already set up a comprehensive sales and service network, covering models ranging from 3.5-ton to 7.5-ton trucks. Its initial offerings include the Cabstar light truck and the NP300 pickup, which are designed to meet the needs of both individual consumers and small businesses.
The target audience for these vehicles includes Chinese and private users, with an initial sales goal of 3,500 units. In 2009, Nissan managed to sell 4,500 units, showing early success in the market. With continued investment and expansion, Nissan is looking to solidify its position as a key player in Russia's commercial vehicle sector.
The company’s entry into the Russian market reflects its broader global strategy to expand into emerging markets and diversify its product portfolio. By focusing on light commercial vehicles, Nissan is tapping into a sector that is experiencing steady growth due to increased business activity and infrastructure development.
