Nissan has revealed its strategy to enter the Russian market with light commercial vehicles, aiming to become the leading manufacturer of such vehicles in the country by 2012. The company is making a strong push into this segment, focusing on expanding its presence and building a solid sales network.

The Cabstar light truck has been one of Nissan's key models in the Russian market. According to Reuters, Nissan plans to start selling its light commercial vehicles in Russia this September. The automaker has already established a comprehensive sales and service network for its range of light trucks, including models weighing between 3.5 and 7.5 tons. Nissan's initial product lineup includes the Cabstar light truck and the NP300 pickup. These models are targeted primarily at Chinese and private customers. The company initially aimed for sales of 3,500 units, and by 2009, it had already reached 4,500 units sold. This growth reflects the increasing demand for reliable and versatile commercial vehicles in the region. With its focus on quality, affordability, and customer service, Nissan is positioning itself as a strong competitor in the Russian light commercial vehicle market. As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, Nissan’s entry marks an important step in its global expansion strategy.
