One of the world's top 500 companies and the Chevron Co., Ltd. Tianjin plant expansion project was completed on May 6, 2013 in the Tianjin Free Trade Zone. Thus, its lubricant production capacity has increased from 70,000 tons to 150,000 tons per year.

Chevron's first entry into the Chinese market can be traced back to 1913. Since 1936, the company has operated petrochemical products in China under the Caltex brand, from fuel oil provided in gas stations, to engine lubricants, to commercial transportation and industry. The customer's lubricant management, Caltex products and services cover a wide range.

Chevron Tianjin expansion project manager Yang Jianjun stated that in order to meet the growing demand of China's lubricants market, the company spent US$20 million to start construction of the Tianjin plant expansion project in December 2010.

“The expansion project selected electricity and heat as the energy supply, and integrated clean and efficient environmental protection concepts into production.” According to Yang Jianjun, the expansion plant uses advanced production technology to avoid no-load operation; the building main body enclosure adopts thermal insulation. Thermal insulation design, make full use of natural light sources; reasonably select distribution system layout, and strengthen energy conservation management.
