On Sunday around 3:27 PM, the fire departments of Tinley Park, Oak Forest, and Orland responded to a report of a house fire at 6120 Jody Lane. As I arrived approximately ten minutes later, I could see the action unfolding. Tinley Park Engine 202 had been the first responder on the scene, facing a 1.5-story house fully engulfed in flames. By the time I got there, Oak Forest Engine 12 was already working on opening up the roof, while Tinley Park’s Truck 204 was also heading to the roof to assist.
The fire was declared under control and extinguished by around 4:00 PM. The coordinated efforts of multiple departments were evident throughout the operation. In addition to Tinley Park's engines—201, 202, and 203—and their Truck 204, Oak Forest sent both their Engine 12 and Ambulance 12, while Orland contributed their Truck 7 and Battalion Chief 1 to the effort.
Attached are several photos taken by Kevin Griffin, capturing the intensity and teamwork involved in bringing this fire under control. These images provide a glimpse into the challenging conditions firefighters faced that afternoon. Despite the severity of the situation, the collaborative response ensured that the fire was contained efficiently, minimizing potential damage and risks.
