This week, the Document Foundation announced that it is currently preparing its LibreOffice Android application suite to launch mobile devices in the process. It is expected that Android will be the first platform to see LibreOffice's suite of applications and its creator's arrival, currently writing 90% of LibreOffice's code.

When LibreOffice's Android is officially launched, the system will also bring open document support, and is being finalized by the current Document Foundation development team to a new user interface. Currently, the team is working hard to optimize the APK version of the Android version that falls within the limit set by the Google Android app for a limit of 50 megabytes. Google prescribes the main apk file, which has a size limit, but does not allow the inclusion of extension packages.
