According to foreign media reports, the American Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) recently submitted a proposal to the US Department of Commerce (DOC) to require trailer tires to be excluded from the "double-reverse" range of Chinese tires.
According to the report, although the US Department of Commerce's investigation focused on passenger cars and light truck tires, trailer manufacturers apparently did not want to see trailer tires covered by the survey.
NATM executive director Pam Trusdale said that the NATM board and government consultants noted that the trailer tires were not excluded from the investigation and the resulting tariff burden would ultimately be borne by the tire importer.
