The Barrington Fire Department was called around 8:00 PM tonight to a reported fire at 340 Weatherstone Road. The call came from a neighbor who spotted flames coming from the garage. When the first responding units arrived, they encountered heavy fire in the three-car garage, with flames already spreading through the roof and threatening the main structure of the house. A Box Alarm was quickly issued, bringing tankers to the non-hydranted neighborhood near Lake-Cook and Ela Roads. Firefighters found the blaze in the garage attic and parts of the second-floor attic before they managed to contain it and prevent further spread. Fortunately, both vehicles inside the garage were largely undamaged. The first Barrington engine was positioned in the driveway, while the second engine set up in front of the house. A portable water tank was deployed by the first engine, and the tankers maintained a steady water supply throughout the operation. Larry Shapiro arrived on scene after the fire had been knocked down and captured several photos. He has shared a small gallery of images here, offering a glimpse into the incident.
