Many of our readers may have known Glenn Bennett Jr., a local figure who grew up in the area. Others might have recognized him from his long career driving and delivering trucks for Seagrave, where he was well-respected and admired by many. In April 2016, we shared a story about an accident that Glenn was involved in. He was hospitalized on the East Coast and later moved to a rehabilitation center in Wisconsin, where he lived. Sadly, Glenn passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the age of 67. His passing leaves a deep void in the lives of all who knew him. **Glenn Bennett Jr. – August 25, 1951 – November 4, 2018** Glenn Bennett Jr. of Three Lakes, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on August 25, 1951, in Evanston, Illinois. For 37 years, Glenn served as a firefighter with the Northfield Fire Department in Illinois and later with the Three Lakes Fire Department. He also worked with FDW Seagrave, delivering fire trucks across the United States. During the 9/11 tragedy, he volunteered his time and offered support during the recovery efforts. Glenn enjoyed the outdoors, spending time in his yard, fishing with family, traveling to Florida, and sharing a good laugh. He is survived by his wife, Anita, and their daughters Lauren Madl (Paul), Barbara Bennett, and Ashley Edwards (Bryan). He also leaves behind two grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters. Anita would like to express her gratitude to everyone for their love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. A visitation will be held at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, Wisconsin, on November 10, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. John Tobin, a close friend of Glenn, shared a heartfelt memory on Facebook: > "For every picture there is usually a story, and this one is no exception. One summer, I got a call from my Seagrave buddy, a delivery man. He said, 'John, can you come and help me? I’m stuck in the maintenance pull-off on the Dan Ryan in downtown Chicago, and I'm broke down.' I said, 'Seagraves never break down,' and he laughed. The rig had developed an air leak, and he knew who to call. So I jumped in the Suburban, picked up the parts we needed, and was on my way. About 90 minutes later, I arrived, and bingo—we got lucky. I had the right part. Glenn, with his big smile and bubbly personality, was up and running, heading to New Jersey. Glenn was always the biggest ambassador for SFA, and his efforts should never be forgotten. Please take a moment to think of Glenn or drop him a line, wishing him well as he continues to face what life throws at him. My thoughts are with him today." Glenn's legacy lives on through the people he touched, the community he served, and the memories he left behind.
