Zion firefighters received assistance from Newport Township, Beach Park, and Winthrop Harbor this afternoon as they responded to a house fire at 2408 Ezra Avenue. The structure, which was unoccupied, was fully involved and later collapsed. Fire crews worked quickly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes.
