Firefighters rescued two brothers from a burning home on the city’s Southwest Side. The fire broke out around 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the 4600 block of South California. A 22-year-old man was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A neighbor reported that the brothers were trapped inside, prompting firefighters to break a first-floor window to rescue them. While the official cause has not been released, the homeowner suspects the fire started in a dryer located in the attic. Emergency crews remain on the scene, working to fully contain the blaze and prevent further damage.
